Who I Am

You are The Sage.

The Sage

The Sage stands for proof, judgment, and clear thinking. It turns scattered facts into a calm answer people trust. This product wins on evidence quality, not hype. The buyer is a Shopify-first DTC operations lead who spends 20 to 30 minutes pulling proof across Shopify, email, carrier pages, and bank portals, and the founder's engineering and automation bent can sustain a measured, systems-first brand.

Why This Name Survived

Prooflane was held to five tests. Here’s how it scored.

Name

Memorability

The image is immediate and the identity claim reads cleanly aloud; it is distinct without feeling invented for its own sake.

Pronounce

Most English speakers land on 'proof-lane' on first read.

Domain

Short, two-part, and flexible enough for a bare domain or a light prefix.

SEO

Specific enough to compete for branded search without fighting a huge generic word.

Unique

It feels native to dispute work without copying the usual 'flow' or 'shield' category patterns.

Linguistic check · 7 languages
low risk
Spanish· pruf-leinPortuguese· prufi-leinGerman· pruf-laynChinese (Mandarin)· pu-lu-fu-leinJapanese· puroofu reinArabic· broof laynHindi· pruf-len

Clean across markets; the main friction is that non-English speakers often soften the opening consonant cluster.

The SageThe Hero

Compound strategy.

'Proof' names the evidence job and 'lane' frames a guided path through Shopify, carrier, email, and bank portals. It fits the Sage/Hero mix by sounding precise, capable, and calm under deadline.

✦ Where the name comes from

How I Sound

We are

CLEAR

Not simplistic

We explain chargeback work in plain language, but we do not sand off the hard parts.

If a reason code, deadline, or proof gap matters, we name it.

We are

CALM

Not passive

We lower the pulse in a live dispute, but we do not wait around for the queue to sort itself out.

Calm means clear next steps under deadline.

We are

CREDIBLE

Not alarmist

We earn trust with amounts, timestamps, and proof sources, not fear.

If a case is weak, we say why without drama.

We are

EXACT

Not rigid

We structure the packet tightly, but we leave room for operator review and line edits before send.

Exact means precise evidence, not locked language.

We are

DECISIVE

Not combative

We tell an ops lead when a case deserves the work and when it does not.

Decisive means choosing the right fight, not fighting every dispute on principle.

Voice in the wild

Test 1 of 7

email subject

When the subject line has one shot.

Say this

Your $742 dispute packet is ready for review

Not this

Critical alert: Fight chargebacks faster now

→ My way

Lead with the live job, the amount, and the next step. Do not open with noise.

Test 2 of 7

error message

When something breaks.

Say this

Carrier scan missing. Add a tracking link or mark this case as write-off.

Not this

Something went wrong. Please try again later.

→ My way

Say what broke and what to do next. Vague copy wastes time when a bank deadline is live.

Test 3 of 7

CTA button

When the button has to earn the click.

Say this

Build bank-ready packet

Not this

Get started

→ My way

Action text should name the finished job, not generic motion.

Test 4 of 7

social media post

Tested on social media post.

Say this

A delivered order can still lose. Chargeback Evidence Desk pulls Shopify data, carrier scans, and support threads into one editable packet before the bank deadline.

Not this

Chargebacks are broken. Our platform changes everything for ecommerce.

→ My way

Specific operations pain is stronger than category chest-thumping.

Test 5 of 7

feature announcement

When you ship a new thing.

Say this

New: recoverability score now flags low-ticket cases before you spend another 28 minutes on proof.

Not this

Big update! Smarter automation helps you win more.

→ My way

Announce the exact workflow change and the time it saves. Do not hide the point behind broad claims.

Test 6 of 7

customer support reply

Tested on customer support reply.

Say this

We found the missing carrier event. It is now in the packet, and the deadline stays today at 4:00 pm UTC.

Not this

No worries, our team is looking into it for you.

→ My way

Confirm the state of the case and the deadline. Reassurance matters less than certainty.

Test 7 of 7

pricing page

Tested on pricing page.

Say this

$249 a month for stores that already see enough disputed GMV to stop paying 20% to 30% on recovered cases.

Not this

Affordable pricing for businesses of every size.

→ My way

Qualify the buyer and anchor the spend against what they already pay. Broad pricing copy weakens trust.

How I show up in the world

✦ In my own words

Hi. I'm Chargeback Evidence Desk. I help Shopify ops leads turn scattered dispute proof into bank-ready cases.

For the press

Chargeback Evidence Desk is a review-first chargeback evidence workspace for Shopify-first DTC brands with active disputes. It assembles Shopify data, carrier proof, customer messages, and dispute details into editable bank-ready packets for operations leads who do not have a dedicated risk analyst. Unlike Stripe-only workflows or pay-per-win recovery vendors, Chargeback Evidence Desk keeps one portable case file outside any single processor.

Where this palette comes from

Dossier Blue makes the Sage's analytical and exact traits visible, while Deadline Amber gives the Hero a decisive cue under pressure.

✦ ✦ ✦

The palette borrows Linear grid discipline in its hard blue structure and Bloomberg terminal restraint in the way warm color appears only where action matters. Against softer chargeback tools, this darker cobalt reads more credible and evidence-led.

Modern & Clean

Strategy notes · 4 min read

Prooflane

Prooflanebuilds a pattern from what most teams keep forgetting — the small signals that compound into something bigger. This is how the voice reads when it’s actually doing its job.

Why this voice

The display does the heavy lifting — it’s what catches you across the room. The body sets a quieter rhythm underneath, the kind that lets you read for ten minutes and not feel tired.

“The display does the heavy lifting. The body keeps you reading.”

Three signals worth keeping

One. Lowercase ‘a’s that lean forward — the typeface has velocity, not just precision. Two. Mono numerals for data tables. Three. Tabular figures so columns line up at a glance.

Note from the team

The smaller scales hold up under low light, in motion, and inside dense interfaces. That’s why we picked them — not because they look pretty, but because they keep working when nothing else does.

Why these typefaces

Inter over IBM Plex Sans gives analytical and exact traits a sober spine: Inter carries tight geometric control, while IBM Plex Sans keeps long evidence text clear.

✦ ✦ ✦

The pairing echoes Linear grid discipline and Swiss International Style, where hierarchy comes from spacing, weight, and alignment rather than ornament. It differs from the other pairings by staying fully sans and closest to the dossier icon brief.

Where I Stand

Here's where no one else stands.

Axes: Workflow ownership × Evidence scope

Why this corner wins

The crowded space sits on the left side of this map: done-for-you recovery vendors and alert tools that either take a percentage of wins or stop before a filed dispute.

✦ ✦ ✦

Prooflane belongs in the upper-right, where the buyer keeps the last edit and the evidence file pulls from more than one system. The tradeoff is deliberate: it will lose stores that want full outsourcing or stores already covered inside a single processor, but it can own the repeat rescue workflow for teams that still do this work by hand.

The logo I need

Hand this to a designer. Or paste it into Midjourney.

Brief-format, not marketing copy. Kai keeps it pragmatic.

Concept

The mark should feel like evidence snapped into order: scattered records becoming one clear case file. The Sage brings credibility and clarity; the Hero adds deadline-ready resolve.

Style · Minimalist wordmark with a compact geometric dossier icon and clean sans serif

Must convey

Avoid

We're thinking…

  • Linear's disciplined geometry
  • Bloomberg's utilitarian restraint
  • Swiss International Style typography

Use deep navy or ink as the base, with a restrained amber accent for deadlines or proof markers. Keep backgrounds light, contrast high, and let color mark state changes rather than decorate the whole mark.

Prooflane launches dispute prep for Shopify teams

May 12, 2026 · by Foundry Press

Thursday, 6:54 a.m. You slide into the diner booth, open Shopify, and watch a $742 dispute stare back from an order that arrived nine days ago. Prooflane launches today for Shopify-first DTC ops leads who still rebuild cases across carrier tabs, inbox threads, and bank portals. The product assembles an editable packet, keeps the case file outside any single processor, and marks which disputes deserve another 28 minutes before the warehouse wakes up.
